New architectural design tools like Autodesk Revit, Google Sketch up, and Google Earth can create 3D digital models of the world around us. Programs like Lumion and Enscape can create photo realistic computer animations, renderings, movies, and panoramas.
Thus we can visualize new 21st century building types like steel shipping container homes, modular home trailer parks, housing with private attached garages, private people movers, radical modernist interventions into historical urban settings, and long span steel structures for airports, convention centers, and train stations. All using new materials like steel shipping containers, colored glass stair tubes, and free formed concrete.
